1st Annual Fall Fest
Our first Annual fall festival, held on Astoria Road between Lund Place and Newport Mill Road, was a great success! Many dozen existing and new members came out to participate in a raffle, enjoy live music, eat, drink, and enjoy the beautiful fall weather in the company of our neighbors.
We were blown away by the generous donations that were made by local businesses. Stronisders generously donated a pumpkin patch for children to decorate and take a small pumpkin home, Pam Schaffer with Compass Realty provided us with a portable toilet, local bands with members from our neighborhood provided us with amazing music. Micah Brachman with MB brass band opened with an hour of brass music followed by Sam Cain and members of the Sick Feed cover band. In between bands, our lively fun Zumba instructor, Renee Sloan, who also is a RCPCA resident, kept the energy up with Zumba!
Many raffle prizes valued in excess of $1,000 combined were donated by many local businesses, and over 30 lucky RCPCA members won these generous prizes! Thank you to the Pink Dot, Kicks Karate, Java Nation, Jenny Cakes, Sweet Hair, Wheaton I-Hop, Wheaton Ledos Pizza, China Gourmet, Tumble Weed, Capital Swim & Sport, Blue Dog, Los Charros, Fyzical Therpay of Rockville, MoCo Movement Center, O.A.K, and Fit4Mom for the generous raffle prizes and items for our welcome bags!
Kicks Karate of Kensington and MoCo Movement center had fun activities for kids to enjoy! The Kensington Fire department brought out their fire truck for people to climb on and explore! Fyzical Therapy of Rockville was providing more information on balance screening, Fit4Mom provided us with water, Pam Schaffer provided us with our portable bathroom facilities & hot cider, and guests had the opportunity to learn more on how to register to vote!
Many neighbors enjoyed ordering an early dinner from the delicious L.A. Taco food truck as well as delicious craft beers from our very local 7 Locks Brewing Company!
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the fall fest, both new and existing members.
